If you are using r4.1, you can set your right-click on the desktop options to the task list. Use:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ geO\ geOShell\ Services\ Desktop] "Right Mouse Button"="Task List"
or download this, and run it to set the value automatically.

Use two geOBars - one for QuickLaunch, system tray etc and another one for menus etc, less used stuff, and AutoHide the second one.

Arrange your shortcuts into folders such as Web, Games etc. Then change your HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ Software\ geO\ geOShell\ Services\ Launch\ Programs string to point to the folder.
